Default yet another...what should I buy next

First..I would like to thank all of you. I bought my first handgun (Smith & Wesson sd40ve) a few weeks back and have been glued to these forums ever since. You have provided a wealth of useful info.

Second..I know have the fever and am already looking at my next purchase. I have been looking at .22 calibers for plinking and such. I have looked at lot of diff. Options such as chiappa 1911-22, cimarron plinkster, and even a m&p. I like the cowboy action/style and think it might be fun but have also read a lot regarding a rimfire feeling the same as your HD/EDC (hence m&p) .

I know the ultimate answer is that it is all in what I want out of a gun but since this is a rimfire..I am not sure. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would start by looking at the S&W. Their .22 is setup like you M&P. You are kind of familiar with the workings of that already.

There is a lot to be said about muscle memory.

I have the:
Ruger SR22 x2
S&W M&P22
EAA Bounty Hunter

Had:
Walther P22 x2
Sig Mosquito
Ruger Mark III
ISSC

If you have big hands the M&P will fit the bill the best. When bought it was between it and the chiappa 1911-22. I choose the M&P because the slide stop cut out in the slide has a steel pin so less likely to wear out.

The EAA Bounty Hunter is a big heavy 9 shot cowboy gun. It is the same size as my Ruger Vaquero 44mag.

The Ruger SR22s are just like the Walther P22s in size and look but have shot all brands of ammo without being picky.

My brother-in-law has the M&P 22. I was very impressed with that pistol. It has a fantastic trigger.

Heritage Arms Rough Rider 22lr/22wmr = $200 - $250ish!

Ruger Single 10 (22lr.)/Single 9 (22wmr)/Convertible (22lr./22wmr) = $500 - $600ish!

$250 - $400 = lots o' ammo!
