Wow, I thought you were young from your OP.....My bad.....

The simplest thing to do, is not to handle a firearm or its components when you are a absolute noob and alone. As you basically touched this thought yourself you could in the least have rendered it "in-operable" for immediate use.

Instead of coming to the net to solve this. The best first idea would of been to seek out your grandfather or a "knowledgeable with firearms" adult.

Then you should seek out further training to expand your knowledge and confidence with firearms.

I'm not hating on you. I'm pointing out the obvious adult decisions that should of been made from the start.
