Default Wives or Girlfriends

I just picked up a Sig Sauer P-239 in 40 S&W for the GF's Bday. I would have never thought of buying one for myself. How many of you would buy a gun or rifle for your girlfriend or wife that you would not normally buy for yourself.

personally i would let the wife or GF pick out what fits them rather than just buying one for them. pistols are a kind of personal thing and if the gun doesn't fit the persons hand well, they will have problems with recoil and shooting it accurately. just my thoughts on this.

Gone are the days of "men" firearms and "women" firearms.

Walls are coming down. Women like to select their firearms.

I've had some of mine get claimed by her.

That gun claiming is getting rampant. I have had to ransom a couple of mine by buying her a new gun.

I wouldn't dare pick out one for my wife! In fact, when she was looking for her first pistol, I was a salesman making calls all over east Texas so I could shop gun stores out of our normal shopping area.

She wanted a Bersa Thunder .380 & they were hard to find back then, so I'd spend my lunch areas drooling at gun stores wherever I was working that day & then report back to her. One day she politely told me to butt out, that she'd shop for her own pistol.

My wife just got her ccw permit this week. Right now she wants to carry the sw 380 as her edc. I'm going to take her out to the range and let her shoot it next week . She may decide to carry her Lady Smith instead.
