Women like to have financial security. Convince her that firearms are long term, piece of mind, personal protection, and valued investments, just like gold or money is.

Ironically, all three can be used to acquire each other.

Copernicus, does this mean all hope in the world is lost? I mean, Copernicus needs help with logic? Where the heck is Plato when you need him? Oh, that's right, today is his day for the bath house...

Seriously, relying on safety and protection from one gun is like relying on safety and protection from one good tire and one good seatbelt. Plus, can anyone really place a value on your family's security?

You have several options:

A. Reason with her as others have mentioned.
B. Demand that she not infringe on your 2A right to keep and bear arms and inform her that you do not need her permission anyway, the Supreme Court says so. (unfortunately she may direct you to the ladies of the Court should you desire l'amore, so use this one cautiously )
C. Don't tell her, just hope that guns are better than sex to you because you are celibate if she finds your cache.

my friend gave me this advise. get most of the guns i will need BEFORE i get married. other than that i can't give advise cause i am not married. But i agree you would have to make it a "joint hobby" involve the whole family. I believe with firearms in the house everyone should be comfortable around them.

That's why I love this forum. So many wonderful ideas. I can tell every single one of you have had to go thru this before. I bought the P250 but I was able to shoot a Kimber Compact II at the range and fell in love with the 1911 platform. I guess I'm in a whole world of trouble now. Thanx for all the thougful replies

Or you can marry an asian wife and have the best
of all worlds.
You can have as many guns as she has shoes.
A big plus is they never argue with you about anything.

I'm confused on the shoe thing. You guys allow your women to wear them? Mine has no need of them in the kitchen.

Tell her no, she doesn't have to make me a sandwich, although another beer would be nice.
