Sure a 45 has more take down power but the 9mm will do the job to and the ammo is cheaper to buy. If your using the gun just to shoot at the range I would go with the 9mm but for home protection I would go with the 45. Anybody the sees a gun pointed at their face it really doesn't matter what you go with the choice is yours. I have a glock 23 myself 40 cal

Cheaper, yes...magazine capacity almost double and follow up shot much quicker...that being said, I would rather put 2, quality ammo, shots (9mm) into a "bad guy" than one .45 shot simply because you're more likely to hit a vital with 2 shots...twice as likely

I like .45 a lot,my first handgun was a huge double stack 15+1 .45acp. Still got it,but my 9mm offers the same capacity and I don't have to lug it around in a duffle bag. Quick follow up shots and I'm willing to bet with hollow points whoever is on the wrong end of a 9mm isn't going to say "hmmm I bet that was a 9mm that guy shot me with" right before they keel over in whoevers house or convenience store they were robbing. It gets the job fine, with double the capacity to size ratio,is cheaper to practice with so it's easier to get the number of rounds down range in practice enabling you to become more proficient with the gun. Which in turn allows you to be able to do a lot more with that large capacity.

it's amazing how this argument over what's better still keeps getting drug up!

what's better? whatever you can shoot accurately! i have all and carry all at sometime or another. it doesn't matter the caliber, if you can't hit with it. regardless of 9mm or 45. but a hit with a 9mm is still better than a miss with a 45. carry the largest caliber you can shoot accurately.

No always true I seen so many dude take up too 9 & 10 shots from a 9mm and recover. Not too many Recovery from a couple .45 rounds

That rapper got shot 9 times with a 9mm he is still around. I'm kinda convinced that if you get shot 9 times with a .45 you have no chance at all ur probley dead arter no.2. And follow up shots with a .45 can be just as fast it's not like ur shooting slugs out a sawed off pistol grip 12ga.
