There are two ranges in my city, on is an indoor pistol range and the other one is a much bigger gun club where you can shoot rifles, shotguns, etc.
I would love to got to the bigger one, but it's geared towards competitive shooters. You can't rapid fire, the handgun range is set at 25 meters. There are millions of rules and regulations for every little thing. The only place where you get some freedom is the IPSC section, but you need to be enrolled as an IPSC competitor to use it. So I've got to stick to my little indoor range.
My family owns some land in the mountains, that's my favourite place to shoot. But it's 12 hours away from my house, so I don't get to go as often as I'd like.

There's some good pics of home range areas in the 'Range Report' thread.

It helps when you don't have to pay a range fee and deal with other people when shooting, imo.

I lost all my weapons in a tragic boating accident over the Marianas Trench - stupid Orbitz dot com cheap link.
When I had handguns I just used to drive down the freeway and shoot at road signs...... *that's not true*

Damn, JD, I did not know you lived in SE Ohio.
Anyway, I usually open my back door and just shoot a few into the air for sh!ts and giggles. (not true either, but I could without fear of collateral damage)

I used to open the front door and fire a 444 marlin at the roadsign down the road.I used to shoot right out the back door as a kid.I had a habit of looking at the clock when it was 4:44pm and saying,"it's 444 time" and fire a shot for no reason. Now all growd up I live in a bit more populated but stil rural area,I fired a few .22s,one .38 and one .357 shot here, but I usually go to my parents house, the "444" house to do alot of shooting

LE only range about 4-5 miles from front door. When at home (growing up home) I used to go to an old gravel pit with lots of car, dish washers and bottles to shot at, but some As* messed that up and they put up no tress passing signs. I need to look for a new spot.
