A number of years ago some cheap guns hit the streets. Jennings, Lorcin, and Davis to name a few. Those three were all owned by one family, but they had their differences. Anyway, these guns were not known for their reliabilty, but at the time, I liked the Davis. So I bought two of them with consecutive serial numbers, one for me and one for my wife. Not too many gunowners readily admit that they own one of these brands.
A buddy had one. It was the most finicky POS ever. It would only feed one certain brand of ammo, and even then, it would jam every 3rd or 4th round.
Just out of interest do Springfield still offer the Model 1911A1? and if so what would be the cost of picking one up over there?
Alternatively does anyone else offer the 1911A1 that you could recommend. I have been out of the swim and have no idea what may be currently on offer.
