I know one guy who buys used guns, fires a box of ammo or two through it, and then trades it back in. He considers the loss he takes a "rental fee," as there are no rental ranges in this neck of the woods.

...Here where I live you have few shooting ranges, and the good ones are membership only. So your limited to where you can shoot.

...I know a guy who buys new semi-autos tests them out, and if he doesn't like the feel, triger pull, or performance he trades it off and buys another. Now, he doesn't do it hap-hapzardly, he buys gun mags, studies the features of each gun he is about to purchase, and if they don't perform to his critiera, he sells them off. I know that some of his purchases there was no more than 50 rounds through them.

I bought a rifle that had 25 rounds through it. The seller's BIL talked him into going hunting so he bought the rifle and 40 rounds of ammo. He fired 20 rounds to sight and get the feel of the rifle. He went out hunting with his BIL and 2 other guys who were going to teach him how to hunt. By noon of the first day he had fired 5 shots and killed 4 deer filling all their tags. He sold the rifle because deer hunting was too easy. I got the rifle,15 rounds of ammo and 25 empties.

Anymore, I'm a little reluctant to discover

Bingo...

The only way I'll buy a used gun is if I can shoot it first. Especially rifles. Never know anyone who would part with a good shooting rifle.

Time went bad and I had to sell off my guns. There were some very good ones in there. Circumstances dictate a lot of sales.

My wife told me if I bought one more gun,

she was going to leave me. I do miss her cooking,

now and then...

I did a foolish thing, A few years ago,I bought a new CA Bulldog 44 spcl with a 21/2' BBL 5 shot gun. Never broke it in at all. I just loaded it with factory ammo & began to carry it as my CC gun every day.I did after a while, Then I shot the heck out of it with no malfunctions, thank the Lord. Now I break in all of my guns rifles & all as soon as I get them & field strip them first clean & lub them. Then Break them in.

There are certain guns that you will be forced to buy used. For example I've had my eyes on a mid 60's Ithaca SxS for a while. You can't find those new.

As far as semi-auto handguns go, I don't have a whole lot of experience with them. I have heard a lot of cases of guy buys a used semiauto handgun. Realizes he inherited a problem, and sells it.

I will NEVER buy any used gun without firing it first. You just never know with some people/ffls.

In retrospect, I've been lucky thus far.

But I would be pissed, if I bought a

used gun, at near=new prices, and it sucked.

Most companies don't have a warranty like Hi-Point...
