There's nothing like the rack of a shotgun.

Ruger 10/.22 with magpul back up sights, nebo195 tactical light, I have found ammo that my gun loves and have never had a jam. If that fails, shotgun in the closet. To all those that hate on the .22's capabilities, go look on youtube to the video at 200 plus yards, the bullet went through 4 layers of denim and a full roast behind those layers. Sadly, TJ lane, the Chardon Ohio shooter, killed multiple people and paralyzed another with .22 LR. It's what works for me and what I am comfortable with. Like I said, the shotgun is in the closet JUST IN CASE.

Mine is a synthetic, crinkle-black, 12 ga. 870, with 18" barrel and 6 round magazine. I figure if a BG doesn't cut and run when he hears the slide, he will be on drugs or alcohol, suicidal, or dumb as a box of rocks, and will probably have just seconds to live. I need to train my wife in its use yet. I'll start with trap loads so she can get used to the recoil. She will never notice the additional recoil of 00 Buck if she has to defend herself with this plainly beautiful weapon.

With the diversity of defense plans, I'm beginning to have sympathy for the intruder. They won't know whether they'll be facing a .22 or a 12, a single stack or a double, bird or buckshot, a sword or a broom, night sights or strobe, red dot or laser,---. About the only thing not mentioned was the kitchen sink!
The diversity would seem to give us all a slight advantage in defending our families and homes.

LOL, Perhaps a copy of this thread should be given to anyone arrested for Burglary as a little light reading material. Maybe it would make them rethink their chosen profession.

I got me an old Yeller dog who has an uncanny ability to sprawl in front of wherever you're trying to walk. When disturbed he emits teargas out his arse as he struggles to his feet - then shadows you for a SlimJim to compensate him for the trouble. Hopefully that'll give me time to chamber rounds in my G27 & M2000 12-ga.
