Tough call 44 Mag or 45 LC both are a hoot to shoot, but I have dies for a 44 so I guess it is my favorite.

.22 hands down love to shoot don't have to worry about collecting my brass. For self defense pistol .45acp for hunting rifle I like .270wsm for home defense 12ga.

.22 is also an extremely versatile caliber.
They make everything in .22, from ammo about as good as a BB gun, to high velocity stuff that can take hogs.

The .45 Colt is my favorite. In factory velocity loadings it is extremely mild shooting and very accurate. But handloaded it can be just about anything you want it to be. While the .44 Magnun shines with the light to medium weight bullets, the .45 is outstanding with very heavy bullet weights. These loads are for use in the Ruger frames only, or larger and stouter built guns.

Here a sampling of my .45s:

In the smaller framed guns, such as the Colt and Ubertis, the .45 is even more pleasant shooting, with factory grade, or Cowboy Action loads, than the 22 R.F.

Default Lest there be any confusion........

I see I have posted three different times on this thread. And each time I picked a different cartridge. I apologize if I had muddled things up hereabouts.

My only defense is that apparently I posted on different days in which I had taken that particular gun/caliber combination to the range.

I shall try to contain myself better in the future.
