My long-held preferences: for self defense, .45 ACP

General all purpose: .357 mag

Least favorite caliber: 9mm

I have more 45acp pistols than any other, but of late my recent purchases have all been 10mm.Love the round.I've now got 5 tens, with one another on the way.45 or 10,a real tough call, but for now I'll go with the 10!

I like .45acp and .357. But I also load for 9x19 and can do some neet stuff there. 10mm is a big favorite. Mine uses standard .45acp 1911 mags and holds 8. 8rnd .45acp mags hold 9. It is a game changer hands down. I like .380(9x17), 9x18, .32acp also. Each has its' place. Best overall would be a toss up between .357 and 10mm.

The .40 is very popular right now. 50% of the auto's we sell at the shop. 25% 9mm, and 25% .45. 357mag by far the most popular revolver in all configurations. From full size cowboy guns, to the smaller hammerless variety.

.50 BMG :D
...................

Most worthless: .22 short & .25 ACP

I've really been loving the .44special/mag lately. My .38 special reloads have been very fun.

A couple months ago I would have said .45 hands down but I've been on a revolver kick.

Just curious....what do you not like about the 9mm..? We have first timers come in the shop all the time wanting us to recommend a gun or caliber. I have noticed each salesperson will steer them in a certain direction, based on what their personal preference is. I try not to do that, but sometimes if you dont take charge of the situation, and tell them what to buy, they will just get frustrated, and walk out without buying anything. Every gun we sell comes with a free first shots safety class, and 1 hr of range time, so we often get to witness the transition from newbie, to gun nut...:D

I like .38 Super Auto fired from a 1911 style pistol. That's my favorite.
