Glock.

I would also recommend a Pelican dry storage box for ammunition / spare mags / emergency electronics.

The Mossberg Mariner is a great idea if you're looking for more gun.

Gator is delicious BTW.

I always carried my Ruger GP 100 .357 mag in my boat. I had it inside a waterproof bag that was secured. I could get it in my hand real quick if necessary.

I think it's funny how you can ask what motorcycle to buy, and get recommendations on an airplane.

Shotgun, no ....

Handgun, yes ....

Why not a little of both... a judge or the Smith and Wesson governor? It's a pistol that is a shotgun! That way you could have a solid projectile and shot for things ranging from slithering creatures to varmints of the two legged kind...

Pretty much agree on that- Like to have one myself for my boat but don't want to spend the asking price for one- Just can't see it

First of all PM me before you buy a boat , specially a used
Second I think cheaper than dirt has a survival pack , water tight tube with a mossy 500 short barrel . http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/95012-55.html

I carry my sks , bit over kill but damn they are one solid gun in my book .
I dont care to carry a pistol on the boat but I have carried my K-frame 22 out to sea for some trolling target practice . A mountain dew bottle caught in the prop wash at 3-4 knots is extremely entertaining and a challenge . If you got the room , buy a dual AR-15 tri-pod mount for the bow , nothing says bad ass like a bow mounted weapons system and nothing will get you pulled quicker .
Remember Wardens and Coasties are a bit more uptight that the land dwellers with blue lights

Seriously though , call me before you buy a used boat if you have not already got it . If your close enough or dont mind shipping , I sell ALL of my trolling motors and major electronics at cost like GPS and the bit higher end fish finders . I can get the 24v rip tide w/ auto pilot for around 1100.00
I can get power poles for 850 ish with a retail of 1400.00

Well, now an airplane... that's a whole nether matter. What do you want? Speed? Payload?
