I've had my heart set on a Colt (Cane must have corrupted me), but now I'm thinking Springfield just to save a few bucks.
I'm also kind of thinking about this Springer I saw in the store a while back....

Cant go wrong with the springers...but from what i have been seeing (mind you, i havent been shopping hard, just cursory looks to help my bud, i have been hunting AR's) the R-1's seem to be a bit less than even the springers.
But in that vein...certain critters here have me all discombobulated now...i was dead set on a DPMS simply from a cost/availability standpoint so mayhaps you should just stick with the springers as i KNOW its a quality piece...the R-1s are new to the market place i havent test drove one. __________________ "Those that would trade essential liberty for temporary security deserve neither liberty nor security." - Benjammin Franklin | Liked 3 Times on 3 Posts Likes Given: 1

The R1 costs a bit more than the GI springer I'm considering lately, but it's cheaper than the RO I've been thinking about the last 24 hours. It's also cheaper than the Colt, which is about the same price as the RO.
Man, it's just gonna come down to what catches my eye the hardest when I walk into the gun store. Who knows, I may even end up with a GLOCK. __________________ LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!! | Liked 1 Times on 1 Posts

I have the honor of "paying a little more".
So I bought a matte stainless Ruger SR1911 anyway. I think I'm gonna add a carry 45 soon enough as well...probably a Kahr CW45. Gotta reward myself for all these 60+hr work weeks. __________________ "Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten.
