Default What do you feel is your maximum distance?

This is not about bragging rights or to win a prize.

I'm curious what you think your maximum effective range distance is with a handgun. Keeping 5 rounds on a piece of paper that is 24" square.

I have made some decent shots out to 135 yards, but for this I feel confident out to 60 yards.

What is your distance?

The furthest I have ever shot with a handgun was at a half gallon milk jug at 100 yards just for laughs.
I shot at it standing with my ruger mark iii .22 and actually hit 4/10 shots.

Well, with THIS one, I go a bit further out.....

For ones like this, 60-65 yds.

For these, 25 yds-

What we have here is... failure- to communicate.

I'll simply assume we're not talking about

scope-mounted, long-barreled 22LRs.

With a 1911A1 or 92FS, 50 yards, tops.

25 yards all day long..

Use to anyway until I was stricken with adult onset nuero muscular disease

I can barely hit a soup can at 10 yards, so I doubt I could some sheet of paper at any more.

I am very confident and will hit my target with my .45 out to 50 yards. My 45 is set up to aim at 6 O clock on the bullseye at 25 yards, and dead center of the bullseye at 50 yards. This comes from all the years shooting 3 gun NRA bullseye competition matches. Keep in mind, NRA 3 gun bullseye is done with one hand grip only.

I know I could do this at 50 yards with most of my handguns. With a long barrelled revolver I'd probably be good a little further out.

I have no problem up to 50 yards with my EDC, at 75 to 100 yards a bad guy would have 50% chance of not being hit. I do practice with the long guns from 100 to 300 yards
