I personally don't want one. I think they're ugly as all get out.

And they're huge. I don't have huge hands.

And they're expensive.

So no thanks for me. More for ya'll.

However. That doesn't mean they shouldn't be around. And I don't get the impression anyone on this thread is advocating getting rid of them.

The more selection and competition, the better for the free market and the people.

However there's not a lot of competing companies putting out a gun like this, that I know of.

They are "outlawed" at both of the ranges I belong to. If I can't shoot it, I sure wouldn't want to own one. They are good looking guns, but so are my NAA minis and I can shoot those at my range. The minis win.

The OP's question is right out of the Anti-gun handbook. That is like saying why does anyone need an AR-15 rifle? Gees? Mr. Obama if I like my AR-15 can I keep my AR-15?

I don't personally think that's what he was getting at.

If you like your AR15, you can keep your AR15-Period. Or your Desert Eagle too!

The ones I have fired have all had feeding issues, or issues going into full battery. The .50 is a decent round and I enjoyed shooting it. Pretty accurate if you do your job behind it. My main shooting buddy has a .357 magnum DE that he just absolutely loves. Me? Not so much.

As far as muzzle energy the .454 Casull is a more powerful round by a couple of hundred ft/lbs. Perceived recoil is also higher though. I wouldn't turn down the .50 AE Desert Eagle for the right price, but I am not seeking one out either.
