I think they would make a good nightstand weapon. I would just have to have a bigger nightstand to put it in....

Seven 325 grain .50 AE bullets total 2,275 grains and 9,905 ft-lbs of energy. Compare that to sixteen 124 grain 9mm bullets and you get only 1,964 grains at 6,112 ft-lbs.

Five 700 grain S&W .500s make up 3,600 grains at 11,200 ft-lbs!

What is a .50 Desert Eagle good for?

They are excellent at turning money into smoke at a very quick pace.

I don't think I would own one. I tried shooting one. I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it.

If we only bought guns we need, no one would need more than four or five and there would be a very small selection. But we buy guns we want, so people buy a 50 cal Desert Eagle.
