Ruger single six convertible and look at the Smith and Wesson 22A. The 22A is kind of ugly but shoots incredibly well. Never a malf and with a cheap red dot, will shoot cloverleafs at 30 yards.

The Smith model 41 is the standard by which all others are judged. Pretty pricey though.

Default Finding the Perfect .22

First and formost, get one that goes BANG, EVERY TIME. Money isn't everything, Find one that fits like a glove in your hand and in your MIND. A firearm is just an extention of your brain, NOT your arm. Some people like a .44 mag, some like a .22 short. If It feels good, looks good, and didn't cost an arm or leg, Then it is right for you.
