Im getting my daughter a .22 for Xmas - and a dog lol. I rented a Ruger Mark 2 and she did ok, a little heavy. Im looking at a Mark 3, it eill take time for her to get used to it. Shes around 10. Any other suggestions on a .22?

Maybe a Ruger SR22. I believe it is a little over 17 ounces. I've heard good things about it. I personally like the MK III 22/45s.

I highly suggest the Smith&Wesson M&P22. It is perfect for the new pistol shooter. Natural 18 degree grip angle, reliable, accurate, light weight, and comfortable. I sold two of them this past week, and people seem to love them.

Walther P22 / P22Q is a great gun. Functions best with CCI Mini Mag ammo.

Isn't a Mark II and a Mark III pretty much the same gun?

I've shot the Mark III - used it as a concealed carry class gun - it was excellent. I bought a 22/45. It shoots excellent also.

The M&P is an excellent gun, too... have shot.

Have a buddy he got the sr22 and I got the new m&p 22 pistol and well short run or it he had to send his back twice. Which is sad to say bc I'm a big Ruger fan got several rugers not sure what happened with the 22.

M&P 22 is a fun to shoot gun!! Loved it! I never got into the Ruger Mk's (they shoot fine)Just dont like the look I guess
