Using too long a case would probable keep the gun from going into battery. If it did fire, I wouldn't want to be anywere around.

Several years ago I was out at the range with a buddy of mine while we were BSing he loaded a magazine full of 380 in my highpoint 9mm while he was firing the mag I noticed it didnt seem right and stopped him. So yes they will fire but they dont sound right and the bullets "fall" after about 25 feet. Either way not a good idea!!!

9x21 and 9x23 are a couple of specialty rounds used in competitions. They allow the 9mm bullet to be loaded to make "major" calibers when power factors are involved. Not your "seen everyday" type of rounds.

Are we forgetting the 9 X 25 Dillon? 115gr bullets at around 1700 fps. 10mm necked down to 9mm.

My "Old-Timer's" kicked in. Otherwise, I would have gotten there.

Hey folks, I got bored and decided to go back and do a little research on a thread that I started a few months back. I was asking what all the different 9mm rounds there were. Little did I know that I had only scratched the surface until I got so many responses from ya'll. Thanks for all your input. And now this is what I found.
This is my update straight out of the books (not neccessarily in order):
9.1mm (Abadie)
9x18mm Makarov
9x18mm Police (9mm Ultra)
9mm Browning Long (9x20mm Browning SR)
9mm Glisenti
9x19mm Parabellum (9mm Luger, 9x19mm NATO)
9mm Federal
9x21mm IMI
9x21mm Gyurza (9x21mm SP-10)
9mm Action Express (9mm AE)
9x23mm Steyr
9mm Largo (9mm Bergmann-Bayard, 9x23mm Largo)
9mm Super Cooper (9x22mm Super Cooper)
9x23mm Winchester
9mm Mars
9x25mm Mauser (Export caliber for C96)
9mm Winchester Magnum
9x25mm Dillon
