I would say buy that "useless" gun that you truly love if you can in any way swing it. I bought a WWI P08 Luger in 1976 and never have been sorry. In fact I got another of collector quality about 20 years later. That one I won't fire so guess which one is more fun!

Yesterday I took out the 100 year old Luger and ran 50 rounds of Federal Champion down range. Only one malfunction, toggle didn't strip the next round one time. Over 37 years it's been quite reliable and accurate plus only one broken part, which was easy to replace myself. That gun's given a lot of enjoyment over the years!

The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together. You'll remember the quality of a gun long after you forget how much you paid for it.

if just to own and shoot, with not any practical purpose. i would have to have a Wildey in 45 Winchester Magnum. just because it would be a blast to shoot.

I don't know anything at all about this pistol but I like the way it looks.

My useless gun that I want? A .22 Derringer.

S&W 629 45 ACP Revolver. I own 2 really nice 1911s, but think a revolver shooting the same cartridge would be great. that I think about it maybe I really DO need it. I do not own any revolvers yet. Evil laugh.......

Default Useless pistol...??? Really no such thing.

LOW on my list... but still on it nevertheless, a LeMat revolver; ...Because I love history, I love shooting BP guns (sometimes) and they make dang fine reproductions of them.
Also low on the list but there... 1) Thompson submachine, 2) Swedish K, 3) Lee-Enfield Mk 1 ...Oh to be rich ...

I have always had a fascination with the Street Sweeper 12 gauge.

Opps, sorry, it's not a handgun......
