I got a new Ruger p95 for $345 out the door. Built like a tank and large enough for my big hands.

Sold my Springer XDM9. Wish I never did. It's on consignment still. Damn guy put it on layaway. If he doesn't go through with it (hoping he doesn't) I'm going to go get it back ASAP. Wish I never sold it.

Most $300+ 9mms are pretty darn reliable.

There are a ton of excellent polymer options in your price range, just figure out what fits you best. As for metal guns, I like CZ for about $500.

Been looking at Ruger SR9c. Las Vegas Gun show $420. GS at home $495. Then, the Ruger LC9 caught my eye $360. Doesn't hold as many rounds, and no extra magazine. But, fits my hand great and for the price, I figured it was worth trying. So, last Thursday I bought it. Took it to the range this past weekend. No jams. More recoil than I like. And sites need adjusted. But, fits in my pocket really well.

I have an lc9 also. Good personal protection gun but not that great for range. Just got a Taurus 9mm that has a SA trigger, better for plinking. I think it's the firmness of the trigger on the lc9 that just makes me less accurate, but can still nail a paper plate at 25 feet consistently so its what I carry.
