The quality control on Taurus is spotty at best and this is a well documented fact. Then if the pistol needs service - you're in for a long wait. This isn't heresay - I've been through this myself with a brand new 24/7 Pro. When I finally got it back from Taurus (it failed within the first week) - after 12 weeks - I sold it quickly at a loss.
Ruger has had recall issues but their customer service is first class and their guns are built like tanks. Do what you want but I will never, ever own another polymer Taurus - I wouldn't take one for $50...
a friend offered me the ruger p97 dc (i think its dc) for 200 dollars. im pretty sure thats a great price, but is it a good gun? i have read many mixed reviews, and have yet to shoot it, but i am interested.
i have fired the taurus 24/7 pro .45, and i found it to be a pretty awesome gun, especially for the price. any thoughts on this gun?
which one would you choose?
i would choose the ruger . Well i'm a big ruger fan. I just bought a new Ruger P345 and it shoots flawless. But i do like the Taurus ( the Judge ) that 410 gauge in a 3" barrel is awsome for snakes and close up protection.
i have a p90 and that thing is the workhorse of my pistol collection. never fails and built to last. you can't go wrong with ruger bro, if it is messed up then they will bend over backwards to get you fixed up. for $200 tell me if you dnt buy it and i might, don't pass up on an american made value.
