You all poke fun. Wait until a Katana wielding BG is running at you.
Will you be prepared? Will you laugh or stand there in amazement that someone is actually coming at you with a sword?
He has you with surprise, you react slowly and your arm falls to the ground with one fell swoop. 
You must be prepared for any situation that may occur.

Call me crazy...but I don't really think I would like the idea of somebody running at me with a sword. At close range a sword or a knife leaves a much bigger hole than any gun out there.
