Striker Fired Handguns
I have run across several negative references lately to striker fired handguns. Can someone provide me a link to a web site that explains what a striker is? Or give me some examples of striker fired handguns? Or how would I tell a striker fired handgun if I were holding one?

Sorry pacman, I missed this one.

Basically, striker fired pistols lack a hammer. They use the release of the firing pin (aka Strker) to fire the pistol. This is different than the trigger releasing the hammer and it striking the firing pin.

Striker fired pistols include Glock, Walther P99, Taurus 24/7, Springfield XD and a few others as well.

There are lots of arguments about not having an external hammer and such. They are much more common than they were 20 years ago when a lot of the comments started.

I hope this helps.
