Default Sterling 300 issue

Hi, new member here. So I've got a Sterling model 300 .25 cal. Picked up at an estate sale. The firing pin was broken so I have replaced it with a new one, however now the gun will not fire. Before the fp would properly seat on and release from the sear. Now, it properly cocks and seems to be properly seating on the sear but will not release. Appears the firing pin is being pulled back a little when the trigger is pulled, but no click, just stays cocked and won't release. Any ideas I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks guys.
