SR9C problems
I just got a Ruger SR9C a few months ago, I've only had it out to the range a couple of times since I broke my hand right after I got it. I don't expect it to shoot like my SIG but there are a couple of things that it does that drive me crazy:

1. When I try to chamber a round the slide catches, every time. I pull the slide back, release it but it stops before it slides back into place.

2. About every 10-15 rounds it stove pipes one...

So, is it me (I always assume I'm the problem)?
Is it the gun?
Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Send it back to Ruger. I have zero issues with mine.

I agree send it back to Ruger, what ammunition are you using?

no problems with min either. actually took it ouut today. overall around 300 rnds thru it no issues. so im not really sure but its probly, after all you said you had broke your wrist, you could be limp wristing it, or it could be the mags. borrow a friends mags to see if you have the same issues or let them shoot it a bit. then perhaps if theres still problems. send it back to check it out

Remington 115 gr.

that is odd, one problem sounds like your slide spring is to weak and the other like it is to heavy... so I guess that means the slide spring is not the problem.

Put some different ammo through it for starters.

Have you cleaned it and lubricated it well? Used grease on the slide and frame rails?

Limp wristing a 9? Not the issue. You said every 10-15 rounds. Which magazine was that with?

well it was an option.. afterall i think my sr9c kicks more than xd .40. probly cause my xd weighs more. butim sure if my wife shot it it would take her awhile to get comfortable.... but thats why i also suggested as you did a mag issue :P

What type of ammo are you using? Ball FMJ or HP/JHPs?

I have heard that the SR9Cs like to have their mags slammed hard to get a good seat. Try slapping your mags home.

I found this with a search:
Nutnfancy posted a series of video in youtube where his SR9 experienced similary type of failure as you described (failure to go to battery). It was a brand new gun and failed multiple times in just a few boxes worth of ammo he was shooting during his "trench warfare" course of fire. He sent it back to Ruger and Ruger supposedly "fixed" it. Ruger said they fixed the barrel (whatever that means as no detail was provided by Ruger). Nutnfancy repeated the COF with that SR9. It experienced the same failure again. He sent it back to Ruger asking them to fix it thoroughly or give him a new gun. He got a new gun which ran 100% for him during his next outting. He was using mostly CCI Blazer with some PMC ammo too. He said the CCI Blazer was working well with his other handguns, including his other SR9 pistols (he has a few). So it was not likely to be an ammo-induced problem.

Tell your friend to contact Ruger.
