Ultimately I'd like to spend the coin on a Krebbs, but it's going to be my first AK so I'll probably go with a model in the $1000 range. Honestly I don't know much about AKs, but I know I want a high end "classic" model. I've been looking at Arsenal. Any suggestions?

I'm a beginner. I have plenty of other guns but this is my first AK. I picked up 350rnds for it tonight and also stripped it down and cleaned it. I noticed the action wasn't exactly smooth but I'm hoping it will loosen up with use.

Seek variants based on build quality, and keep in mind it's a

broader field than simply an AKM. 7.62X39 is fine, but you can

now get .308, 5.45X39, 7.62X54R, and others. Nicer barrels and

receivers are available. Thumbhole stocks, better scope mounts,

it's a new ball game, you don't have to settle for a 10/63, anymore.

Things can change in a moment, but right now, I am hoping for a used, full size, steel frame 1911A1 style purchased as a person to person sale.

As said, built like a tank. They will shoot .357 and .38sp. It's simple enough that my wife will like it also. They look really good and are more compact with Badger grips.

I have an application for a pistol purchase permit in hand and given that I live on the shore in New Heresy a pistol purchase is at least 2-3 months away. So the 10/22 seems like my NEXT buy, probably a takedown model.

i'd like my next gun purchase to be a revolver in 357 magnum, or another 1911 or another bolt action shotgun in 12 ga. or 410.
