I love both of mine. The triggers are just about the same in SA as a Ruger or S&W. DA is a heavy trigger pull but not a ton heavier than any other revolver. I have a 44 with 8 3/8" barrel and shooting special reloads is like shooting a 9mm. I also have a 94 with 5" barrel and in SA it is every bit as accurate as my Ruger Mark III 22/45 Target pistol. DA is another story.

I have no problems recommending a Taurus. They are not as pretty as a Smith but they don't carry nearly the same price tag.

S&W 1911SC E is on my list next. Found one at the gun show last week and just stood there thinking about what the old lady would say if I bought it.
Needless to say it was still there when I left. LGS has awesome prices and hopefully they will get one in and I'll pull the trigger.

I'm thinking a s&w SW99 but I'm not sure of their track records

I was thinking about getting a police trade-in from budsgunshop a few months ago. I think it was listed for right around $380. But we didn't have the extra money to spend.

What kind of shape are the usual police trades? I would tend to think they would have a lot of rounds through them.

I haven't bought one yet. I imagine most would have a lot of holster wear but very sound mechanically. That's just an assumption though.

Well that's what I WAS going to get. It looks like they're sold out now.

From what I've read, they usually have a good amount of holster wear, but are good mechanically. (just as JW said).
