I have one as described. The best factory trigger in its class, save for the Python. Better than the Colt King Cobra which is x2 price. The barrel length is optimal for shooting 38 sp, a little too short for 357 Mag (that would be 6"). Do the checklist and buy with confidence. (Note: As New guarantees nothing, go over the details)

Solid performer. No real downside. If you can get a reasonable deal on it, enjoy.

The 686 is an EXCELLENT revolver. Just make sure it is a 686-1 or up. 686, no dash must have an "M" stamped on the frame by the model number to signify it was modified by the factory. The first run has a small issue and most were corrected. Shipping back to the factory and re-importing will be a major PITA for you.

You CAN fire 357's in a 4" gun,..oh wait, that's right as a loyal subject of the Queen you can't defend yourself if attacked by the use of a Gun, Sorry. The 686 is a Good Solid Framed Gun,..will take lots of Punishment..

You can't go wrong with a S&W wheel gun. Just do the homework on your pricing...

Is the exchange rate still around three dollars to the pound manta? If so, I would think the 650 in pounds Sterling is pretty high,, around 1800 U.S. dollars,, unless that is the going price in the U.K. Of course, I want a Rigby Magazine rifle in .375 H&H,,, I'm a dreamer at times.

Not to shift the topic,..but Montana firearms(Montana Rifle group) makes both an "All Weather" and a "Large Bolt" in many calibers including 375 H&H,..I prefer 338 Lapua myself if i were buying a Long Range Bolt action gun......but like the 50 Cal., it's Darn Expensive..
