The lower end of deadest is a M119A1 105mm Howitzer round to center mass. Somewhere up the scale is ground zero of a GBU-43/B MOAB. Deadest.

Actually, .380 was designed by John Browning as well. That being said, there's a dismal difference in performance between the two. Check out goldenloki's ballistic tests. Energy levels and penetration are close when European FMJ ammo is used in. 32 ACP.
