Hopefully things get back to normal in a couple months. Trying to stay positive but it's not easy with the current state of our nation.

People are hoarding ammo for civil unrest not for the range. When the dollar crashes and hyperinflation hits ammo will be very important.

I think some are hoarding for civil unrest but the majority just expect prices to go way up and buying ammo if you can find it to become a huge ordeal. I would tend to think they are correct.

The last shortage also saw an increase in prices, but since then the ammo did not decrease in price too much.

Same here. And I'm finding out now that I should have had about 5K more 22 longs because my two teenage shooters can burn it up faster than CCI can make it or Wally World can keep it in stock. I never expected a shortage of 22.

Just think about the mrket flood once My fellow NY'ers start selling their "Illegal" Weapons, Mags and accessories, that should chop some prices! I bet not a single one of those weapons will end up in criminals hands because they were ripped out of the hands of legal Firearms Owners...

No, that's people that are very uneasy about where this government is taking us. I've listened to people at our gun stores that are buying guns that have never brought before let alone shot anything and the age group doesn't seem to matter Even had a single 35-45 year old woman yesterday at our farm store trying to buy 22LR and shotgun ammo for her weapons and she had no ideal what they took, but she wanted ammo so between the salesman and myself we finally got her to go home and get the information off the guns and then come back.
I agree some people might be hoarding certain types of ammo, but 22LR, and then you have the sale of all the different type guns, people are buying everything and price doesn't seem to matter.

A local gun shop near me is now trying to charge $1.50 per round for 5.56 55gr FMJ...yup, $30 for a 20 round box of Federal XM193 -- LOL - they can keep it.

I have never been quite so happy to own a Dillon XL650 as I have been in the last month.

A shortage of ammo has got nothing to do with a fool paying $700 for a $400 gun --
If you want to disagree fine but stay on topic--
