[just got a woody]

What about a single action revolver in .44mag or larger? You never know when you might run across a bear that needs ventilation.

I vote for a Glock 17 or 34.

I just could not control myself. I do own what I recommend, well kinda, the 34 is a want. I do have a 17.

JW: I have been thinking about This choice the two of you face: Since your thinking wheelgun, but want a "Good Reliable" Gun without spending a Boatload of cash, Plus you both already have 9's......Charter Arms Pitbull 9MM(i'm still waiting for mine) or the S&W 547 if you can find one. I know S&W is re-releasing a 9MM Wheel Gun as well......

Well, its an interesting thought, and while I wouldn't mind having the new 986 being put out by S&W, we also already have two wheel guns chambered in .357 Magnum, and I also reload for it.

Soooo... Aside from the cost of the Charter, I see little advantage for US going to a wheel gun in 9mm.

Yup. Ok, then. Very nice. So any plans to make the inside of the vault nicer? Is it 4 walls separate from the foundation, or built into the foundation?

Two walls are the foundation and its built in one corner. The front of my basement is under ground and thats where the vault is. My yard slopes to the rear of the house so the back of the basement is at ground level so I can just open the door and walk out on the patio. I may do a few more things to fix it up a little but I mainly just wanted a safe place to put my guns plus I always wondered what I would to if a tornado was coming so its also my safe room. I have it listed with the county Sheriff so if my house comes down on top of me they know its there. Also when I had the door built I made sure it open to the inside so it can't get blocked by debris.
