Beretta is a solid purchase....I have several....great safety system for carry....96 is a large frame 40 cal ....I like the 40 cal storm as you can fit the grip to your hand....they do like to stay clean...i carry 9mm compact, it is a nice gun but it is heavy and wide.....i bag carry it so it is ok,,,,the other guys are right they are not 1911's but feel good in your hand. springfield armory xd is also excellent.....Has anyone handled the new walther 40 cal?

No, and YES. No because you're asking. Yes, because the Beretta M9 is supposedly a wonderful firearm from what i have heard. Reliable, and dependable so it has been said.

It also won a competition in the 1980s to replace the M1911A1 as the primary carry in the U.S. military and still currently is being used in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and I do believe it was carried out in the Gulf War.
