Default Shiny Happy Handguns

I don't know about you all, but I've never much cared for the look of Nickel or Stainless, preferring my guns black or blue or occasionally painted with rustolium to cover the dings, scratches and rust of misuse and abuse.

Certainly when two otherwise identical handguns are side-by-side, one being blued, the other Happy-Shiny, my hand will naturally gravitate to the darker one.

So it was with some surprise when I discovered I may possess more than a random sampling of firearms with this unattractive finish.

I'm uncertain how this happened. Is this a symptom of early onset dementia or pimpitus or merely the result of bad lighting in the pawnshops and gun stores I've been scouring?

Is anyone else out there suffering from this malady and should we start a support group?

Perhaps by starting this thread others will be encouraged to come foreward and post photos of their afflictions in hope of finding a cure.

Good looking collection of motley misfits you have there. I love the shiny guns. Apparently you do too.

No offense and none taken

My preference for dark VS shiny guns runs in veins. It depends on the gun. Shiny single action revolvers, cool. Shiny semi autos, not so much. Anything military-like, not at all. Bolt action rifles, yes or no, depending on my mood.

I like stainless steel for everything except CCW pistols.

That's a beautiful collection you have there Trig.

The P226 looks like the best.

LOL, that's one thing I can't get on board with; two-tone.

Ya see, down here in Florida, if you turn off all the stuff in the house, and

sit quietly in the dark, you can hear your blued guns rusting.

So I prefer the Stainless and Nickel Plate. It still needs the occasional wipe

down with an oily rag.

Shiny used to bother me to no end. Hated it. I now have two brushed/matte/whatever stainless and desire either a polished stainless or nickel 1911. I currently have no desire to install gangsta walls or 30" rims on my pickup.
