Default Sending Guns Via Mail?

Is there a fedral law prohibiting gun sales and delivery via USPS between two people as long as both parties can own guns in their state?

It seems to me state officials want to push it all on the feds...

You can send a long gun (rifle, shotgun) to another person

If you want to send a long gun to a person in another state I
believe it has to go through a FFL, but not sure if it has to
be an FFL on both ends.

You can only send a handgun USPS FFL to FFL.

All that said, if you order a CMP rifle it comes in the mail.

i dont think the usps is allowed to tranfer firearms since they are goverment owned. i think it has to be ups or fedex. but the best thing to do is contact your local post office

This question comes up fairly often on the firearms forums and often you will receive a number of well-meaning responses, some right and some wrong. The best resources are the ATF and USPS websites so you can reference your actions in writing. Do not depend on the USPS personnel knowing the regulations.

Look up for the ATF answer to your question. Scroll down to B-7 and the answer is clear.

For the USPS regs look at web site They tell you if and how you can mail handguns and longuns. Good luck.
