Default S&W .410 Pistol

Has anyone got any info on the new S&W .410 2 1/2 in shot shell pistol. One friend told me that it is supposed to shoot not only the .410 and .45 colt rounds, but the .45 auto as well? How does it compare to Taurus?

How does a Smith compare to a Taurus? My guess is "favorably."

Default Thanks

Thanks for your opion, but I guess you haven't seen any either. I can't even find where anyone has tested one (gun mag editors and writers).

GOVERNOR (Z) - Smith & Wesson

Interesting firearm, at least.

Found one "review": http://thetruthaboutguns.com/2011/01/robert-farago/smith-wesson-governor-whats-up-with-that/

edit* Just realized that it was S&W that Taurus was connected to back in the 1970's; no wonder S&W decided to borrow a bit of Taurus's sales pool.

Who woulda' guessed? Taurus has been making so much $ off The Judge that S&W figured they might as well finally jump in too. What a concept... I guess...

When comaring the SW to the TAURUS, I find the S&W less ugly. On unusefullness, Id say the're about the same.

Default Found more Information

Dug a little deeper and found where S&W is calling the revolver the "GOVERNOR" and the internet has several threads on it, most appeared to be advertisements, but a couple were worth watching/reading.

Before I would consider a .410 revolver, I would check out the backyard ballistics testing here.

The Box O' Truth - Ammo Penetration Testing

I found the buckshot to be the most telling and deciding factor.
