Kind of a vague question.

I'll take Springfield's 1911s and the XD/XDm polymers over similar Rugers. Springfield Armory is really about three designs: 1911s, XD/XDm polymers, and the M14/M1A. That's it. And in my experience they've executed each of those three facets very well.

Ruger 1911s and SR-series polymers are just fine though. And Ruger offers a far wider variety of guns (pistol or otherwise) than Springfield. Great revolvers, neat little pocket guns, outstanding rimfire pistols, and various solid long gun platforms.

I have a Ruger MII which is scoped, and is very accurate at

75 yards. Absolute favorite plinking gun. Unbelievable fun.

I have a Springfield 1911A1 in .45ACP. A go-to gun for SD,

and well loved companion for many CC.

IMHO, I don't believe they can be compared,

simply because they are both firearms...

Fair enough. A boat anchor lol. And his ruger also has a scope.

Yes I work gun department and it's fun, I like hearing opinions on guns and what people favor more. I want to get a gun but can't decide what to get yet

My advice would be spend more time handling the guns in your store. Posting on forums is great, but all the replies aren't worth a hill of beans when it comes to picking out a gun for YOU. Get some real, hands-on experience with as many different guns as you can.

Honestly, I don't like most of the guns that other people have and like. And the same probably works in reverse, other people probably don't like the guns that I have and like. And you know what? It's okay. I wouldn't trade my guns for what most people have and maybe most people wouldn't trade their guns for mine. But everybody is happy and that's what makes the world go 'round.
