What he said up there ^^^^.
I like my Mk III, but there are a bazillion people that love the Mark II- DID go out of production in 2005.

I have a Mark II and I absolutely love it. It's my first semi-auto so I don't know the difference between a 'heel mag release' or any other release. I've not gotten used to any other kind of release. My Mark II is very fun to shoot and way more accurate than I'll ever be.

They don't make them like they used to...errr or make them at all.
Probably one of the all time greats and one of my personal favorites when it comes to semi-auto, magazine fed .22LR handguns.
MKII's have already been appreciating in value since production ceased.
That 2 hunnerd dollar gun is rapidly becoming that 3 or 4 hunnerd dollar gun.

I have a MK II 678GC and a couple of MK IIIs, a 5 ½” bull barrel and a Hunter. By the time I got done with the internals, the only operational difference was the heal release of the MK II and the button release of the MK III. Neither was perfect. I put on a paddle mag release on the MK II and screwed on a 1911 mag release extension on the MK IIIs. The original Ruger heal release on the MK II really sucks big time.
