For those that are reading challenged, my xdmc9 will continue to be my primary carry. I also did buy it, still haven't shot it.
For the .45 or go home, please, how many discussions are on the internet about the right size for self defense ammo? Stand in front of me and let me shoot you. We'll even start with a .22LR and move up to the .50. Tell me when you've had enough.
There are instances where that little pocket gun are perfect. YMMV

Those that think anything smaller than a 600 nitro is useless should remember that Ronald Reagan was shot with a .22 short and was saved only due to modern medicine.

QFT! +1
But it's not a fun gun to shoot. (or be shot)

Considering I haven't had an opportunity to shoot the damn thing yet... I don't know. Doesn't look like a whole lot of fun, but for those few occasions when something else just doesn't work.

What ammo were you using ? Buffalo Bore has some good rounds plus 102 gr saber rds but for full penetration, fmj has saved the day.

I was just practicing with the Winchester whitebox ammo. Don't remember the grain. I actually traded off the LCP and a Marlin lever action the other day for a pair of RIA Commander 1911's. I will continue to carry my .357, though.

There is always gonna be a controversy regarding the .380 ACP. Just as much as there is going to be the whole 9 MM is weak and useless next to the .45 ACP thing. I personally don't take any advice when it comes to caliber effectiveness. I buy a gun simply beause I want it. I have a Bersa Thunder .380 as my bedside nightstand gun. It fits in the drawer nicely and it is a very relible little gun; it is true though that most .380 pistols are not pleasant to shoot. I shoot mine about once a year and usually go through 100 rounds each session. By the end of the session, the webbing between my thumb and forefinger is really sore. The Bersa doesn't have much muzzle flip as the gun recoils straight back into the hand. I like the gun though and have found it to be reliable and accurate. I don't know about the Ruger .380, but if you want one, get it. I personally think the Bersa Thunder .380 is one of the best gun values to be had and should be looked at by anyone contemplating purchasing a .380 pistol.

There was a debate on going mid-size w 380s like Sigs excellent 232, Walthers famous PPK, "CZ" w the larger frames, a full purchase or grip is possible and accuracy plus shell count goes up. All Wins right ?
Except: Now you can have 9mm firepower in the same package...guess which way it's going to,go ?

SWMBO's primary carry is the Bersa .380. She's deadly scary accurate with it... me not as much so, but I've prob only put 20 rounds through it.

Aren't caliber arguments for people that can't hit the ten ring?
