Hey guys,

Thanks for all the help. Since my first post i have read and learned a lot. I ended up purchasing a glock 19. I am very happy so far. I have gone to the range several times and fired about 400 rounds so far. I have cleaned the pistol 3 times and am beginning to feel very comfortable. I attended a gun show recently too and had a good time. I picked up some accessories like cleaning supplies and ammo cases. I am getting ready to take a class out here from a highly recommended teacher so I am very excited.

Congrats on your purchase Song, if the pistol fits you well that is the only thing that matters.

That's the firearm I (and thousands before me) chose for my first, also. I have moved on, but it was a good first firearm (and caliber).

So, what's next?

I am very satisfied right now. I am already looking at a 45 acp 1911 style or a shotgun. Guns are fun. I can't imagine ever selling this firearm it's a solid 9mm, it may not take down an elephant but it is not a pea shooter and it can be fed at a decent price at the range.

The Glock 19 is a very good gun. I just recently bought a 19 and I love the thing, and like you, I can't imagine ever getting rid of this one.
You sound like you're going in the right direction, you started off with a very good, reliable 9mm, now you're thinking of adding a 1911 to the collection.

Welcome to a very addictive hobby

12 guns later and I finally got a .22 pistol (Browning Buck Mark). I really don't know why I waited so long. After the very first magazine at the club I got the biggest grin on my face that hasn't gone away.

1 magazine that didn't cost $5-10 to fill. In fact, the magazine cost only $.50 to fill. Ya can't beat that!!!!

Get that 1911, but then seriously consider a .22 of some variety.
