Yea, dropping at my job wouldn't go over so well with the suit that is above me. Of course our 5-0 department would flip.

With that much ammo, you'd be the person they would lay off...

Any software developer/programmer worth his keystrokes knew that the root of the Y2K bug would merely be a miscalculation error in any date string. Programs, if properly coded, would simply fail execution where date math was concerned. The worldwide solution: change your 6-digit date to 8 digits. As we all experienced, the Y2K hype was a bust.
However, what isn't (all) hype and what is certainly real is the PERCEPTION of SHTF and thus the consequent actions relating to beliefs such as "12/21/2012." Will the world continue into December 22? Of course it will. But where you and I will feel the realities of this perception is the impact on commodities and pricing due to all the prepping and hording.
Ironically, to prepare against the run on certain goods (ie, increasing ammo prices), non-Doomsday folks will also begin to stockpile a little for different reasons. As we can see, this becomes a bit of a spiral effect.

I totaly agree with you, thats why we are at that point now. I really dont think its going to get better for awhile. I see people all the time complaining because the cant get there ammo at the local walmart. But when it is avaible they buy everthing they can to go with the bunch they have.
I myself have a very good stockpyle, but i reload 90% of mine. And it seems i load 500 rounds and end up shooting 400 that weekend, i cant help myself its there.

Ayup! I shot 300 this morning. Stopped by a shop to pick up 500 more. Shot 250 more this afternoon. Two steps forward, eh.
Plus I'm in trouble. I'm already shooting .45 which is relatively expensive. I made the mistake of renting, shooting and now lusting for a .308 rifle.
I need to learn to reload.

This thread is a painful reminder that I don't have enough ammunition.
