Ok, so I haven't fired a gun in over a decade and then only a few times. Just bought a Glock 19 and figured I would try it out, I think I did alright for being a beginner.

First couple mags...

By the end of the day, last 2 mags.

25 yard range and 3 boxes of Winchester, 2 124 grain and 1 box of 115 grain. I think I liked the 115 grain better, a little more of a snap but I can't tell the difference in accuracy as I'm probably less accurate than any ammo.

Also, how lubed do most people run their Glock? I may be using a little too much.

i dont think you can over lube a gun. nice shooting for a 10year gap!!

Thanks, not that it made that big of a difference but it was under 40 degrees outside and very windy. At least they had a couple drums on fire to warm your hands up by.

You should not engage in winter gun fights.:D

I notice in the first picture that there is quite a ragged hole near the crotch of the silhouette...

Lol, yeah I had just reloaded and was looking for a place on the target to try to put a group. I think it would be effective in real life ;-)

Great shooting, Tanktop. I hope you had a great time.

I had a blast, totally forgot when I got there the news was interviewing the owner. He was explaining how he sells machine guns, rocket launchers, grenade launchers and even 20mm stuff! If you guys have never heard of dragon man's you should look it up.

You CAN over lube a Phoenix. Lol

To OP, you have interesting timing. I just dug out my first targets from back in February and was going to pay a nostalgic range report, but I'll just leech off yours if ya don't mind...

My one and only indoor range experience this. The line marshals each took turns teaching me their hold, pull and stance. I was overwhelmed with info. Lol

They started me at just 10ft being new...

Then we moved back to 50ft...

Nothing impressive and it shows that DAO and I are not compatible. This was the day I learned that it's SAO triggers for me!

I was an obvious noob, the marshals all paid special attention to me offering little hints like over-involved fathers. I felt honored, but definitely crowded and nervous. I also learned that day that it's outdoor solitude when plinking for me. Lol

As you may see the little LCP even at 10ft was not my bag. 2 mags worth and only 8 rounds in the paper, 3 in the actual target, and the rest was low and out. Hard to see sights, basically useless, far too much recoil because of fame size and material. Not my cup of tea.

The LC9 on the other hand was decent. Still loathed the trigger action, soft at start, almost too easily manipulated, then mooshy, like bad brakes, and finally snap and fire. I liked the unpredictability of it, caused me to pay more attention to aim then the anticipation of the bang, but I still hated it. First at 10ft, 15 of 16 rounds fired, easy to do at distance, nothing to be proud of but it was a start. Then at 50ft, 21 hit paper out of 28. Marshall said to just use magazine to load chamber and not use the +1 when practicing so I respected his request. Still, I was pretty all over the map.

Finally was the Firestar M45. 50ft, 3 mags, 18 rounds total and 15 hit paper. 8 shots were pretty decent, all were high. Best accuracy of the day and haven't looked back at DAO since.

Plan on going back this Thursday. Will keep the targets and update with new shots and see if the outdoors have been helpful or harmful. Lol

This time should be testing the Firestars 45acp & 43 9mm, add well as the troubled Phoenix 22lr. So, to be continued...
