If I felt I needed that many rounds, I'd carry a bigger gun. Just my own personal opinion.

I carry ONE magazine... in the gun. 7 rounds in the mag, one in the tube ready to rock and roll. It's ease of concealment is why I chose it. Too many extra mags defeats that purpose. PLUS we've all read the stats on defensive shootings. 3-5 rounds fired in almost every situation.

I have to admit some of my pants have huge pockets. With a long shirt I can pocket carry a Ruger P95 or a S&W model 10 with a 4" barrel. I am not talking about cargo pants either.

i dont carry my lcp because im recoil sensitive i carry it because its the biggest gun i can stick in a pocket get my hand around it and be discrete if i need to draw.

as a off duty cop the needs are different cuz a cop isnt really going to get detained and questioned for excersing their constitutional right to self defense a civilian is far more likely to be held to a different standard in a lot of cases. this is especially true in a city like madison milwaukee or green bay...

Hmm.... To name a few: Better terminal ballistics, higher capacity, smaller size, bigger size, longer barrel length, smoother edges, lighter weight, heavier weight.... When you buy a gun you are always sacrificing one thing to gain another. And the rule of thumb that most people use for caliber is always the biggest bullet they can handle the best. Until you hit a mouse gun and then some people assume the only thing you need is a 380acp when there are tons of full size options the same size and weight that don't have the less than acceptable ballistics problems that 380 mighty-mice like to pretend don't exist.

Chart was cool, thanks for the info. But it did not include some common guns so is of limited use. It is interesting seeing the comparisons, but sometimes a different shaped gun fits a person, pocket or carry position better than another gun. Shoot what you feel comfortable with. Let's save or venom and fights for the SOBs that keep limiting our carry options.

Yeah I think it's older. But some people were acting like there were no other caliber options that come in the same size as an LCP which is simply not true. There are quite a few options not even listed on the chart but it gives you a comparison.

i want to see one that is the same size. im not being facecious im truly interested as i would love something more potent than a 380 for ultra discrete pocket carry and just as reliable that isnt a freeking 1-2 shot derringer. width and height is extremely important to me for pocket carry. and i cant see your google chart

Here's the LCP

Hopefully these don't come out blurry.

Now here's just a few random examples from the chart. I wasn't paying close attention, just picked a few of the ones with a smaller width. It's a pretty big chart and not necessarily in order from smallest to largest from the 9mm page.
