I don't know much about the CZ75s, but I wouldn't be so quick to jump to that conclusion .

Now, I don't own a glock, have never owned a glock, and at the moment don't even own an autoloader. But if I were to buy another 9mm it would definitely be a Glock .

S&W 5906 is a great choice. Proven preformance and has the heft you are looking for.

Default Great...

Thanks for the quick responses. I'll see if they have the 5906 and CZ available at my local range for some testing.

The weight is for recoil minimization. I noticed that my second tap is pretty inaccurate so looking for improvement.

Didn't think about that, CDNN has those for like $300 now. Good call!

A Star 30M is big and heavy. Durable as a tank.

Default Compensated pistol?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I have not located the S&W 5906 yet, but will try. I'll order the CZ75 when I return next week.

I did see people recommending compensated pistols to help with recoil. It seems that there are some downsides, but otherwise quite helpful. From looking around:

1) Muzzle flash (not an issue since this is for range only)
2) Slightly greater risk of injury from discharge
3) Requires more maintenance
4) Ballistic dynamics change versus non-compensated

Even these were subject to debate though...

My goal is to be able to group my double and triple taps better. Right now, my first shot is fine but I'm taking too long to return to target sight.

I won't be able to shoot for a week so I'll be jonesing for the range

CDNN Sports, Inc.
There is a pic of their catalog that you can click to view. The lil pic shows the 5906 right above the "for" in "click here for direct download". I usually just click and view rather than downloading.
