Default Pistol value

Guy I know is selling a S&W 38 special wood grips blue 4 inch barrel,says he bought it in the 60's, looks like new did not get the model number, anybody give me a ball park figure on value please. Thanks Gary

Pictures will definitely help your chances of getting the correct model, which will give you more accurate price range.

Thanks SS, the guy pulled it out of a sock in his garage just looked at it a few seconds did not think to look for the model but it looked new, I am not much on computers, and posting pics.

From the '60's, I'd guess a model 10. In good shape they are going for about $200.00 to $250.00.

Did you notice if it had a rear adjustable site?If it is a fixed site its a model 10 (M&P). If its a shooter its worth about 350. If its pristine condition its worth around 500. If it has a rear site its probably a model 15 (Combat masterpiece).Worth 450 to 550 depending on condition.

yea i agree onenut my uncle has the mod 10 mp and i love it and buy the thread starters info it sounds like the same gun and i would say about 350 or so is right but she better be a pretty lookin piece
