Oh dude, trust me I get it. A reduction of pay is about as desirable as a colonoscopy. But the worst part is the poor guys who weren't union members who lost their jobs because those who were wouldn't take that cut to save the company. Thats the worst kind of helpless right there. I rarely wish poor conditions upon anyone, but those who caused the downfall of Hostess deserve to loose all they have for taking from so many to try and squeeze a company on the brink and causing a collapse.

Before you buy, try:

1911A1, any brand

Beretta 92FS

CZ75

Rent, borrow, do what you must.

So very true!

I'd add a Ruger P95 to this as well. Something I've always wanted to own!

Nothing. Beretta makes some damn fine firearms, they have been in business 600+- years, and they're from Italy. CZ - Czechoslovakia, SIG Saur - Germany. Admittedly, at least 2 of these companies manufacture here......not sure about CZ.

They are not better than other pistols I would think the most popular and carried handguns in America are foreign made the only American made handgun popular here is the 1911 and the browning buckmark and the smith Wesson for revolvers .Asking what's the perfect pistol is like asking what's the perfect car. You would really need to try different handguns and decide what works best for you. There are things you will have to decide on do you want a revolver or semi-auto striker- fired -or SA/DA-or single action only double action only and other considerations weight steel or plastic etc.
