They're a good, well made pistol. The only drawback that I see is the lack of magazine capacity.

Was curious and ran into a really cool review and some great info on this pistol on YouTube. Check it out if you don't mind watching for 9+ minutes.Sorry I didn't get a link up for you.

I had one in 9mm makarov. But I am left handed. The grips are made for right handed shooters. They make after market grips. But I didnt feel like changing them. I bought it for $100. I sold it for $175 if I remember right.

I've got one and its a solid, reliable gun for the money. Biggest problems are the extremely heavy trigger pull and also very sharp recoil. It's not a pleasure shooter.

In the review I saw on YouTube he talked about different lb hammer springs made by wolf that would correct that problem.

Yes, you need a lighter hammer spring and a stronger recoil spring. It will help the problem but still far from correct it. Even with the spring change, the DA pull is easily twice as hard as any DA pull on any revolver I've ever seen.

And there is no remedy for the sharp recoil. About 50 rounds at one range session is all I ever want to shoot.

If your looking for a 9x18 makarov pistol i prefer the cz82 but the p64 is nice enough although for a left handed shooter such as myself the grips are annoying
