I would have to disagree with all of your reasons, but what do I know I have only been carrying a gun in public (both ways) for about 45 years now!!!

I carry open while hiking, hunting, horse back riding and other 'outdoor' activities but unless I am in uniform/working I do not carry open in public!
I completely support the 'right' to open carry, but because of my military and LE background and training would totally advise against it!!! You are just asking to be a 'target', and you are giving up the most important element you have in surviving a 'lethal' encounter, the element of SUPRISE!
Other than to make 'political' statement, there is no logical/realistic reason to carry open in public!!!!

A month and half since Oklahoma's open carry went into effect, I've not seen anyone OC'ing in public.

I open carry when I am hunting and when I walk my dog. I want it to be clear to any would be burglars that there are people with guns and lights patrolling the neighborhood.

There are pros and cons. If U are in a small town in a traditional hunting area such as Alaska and U are wearing hunting clothes and U look like U have just come in or are going out I dont think it is a big deal. If U are OC in a major town in a non hunting area that allows OC, I think it is foolish.

I open carry when at home (during the day, I'll elaborate in a minute), and when I'm hunting. That's it. At night at home, I switch to concealed carry, because with the lights on, you can't really see outside, but anyone can just look through your windows. I'd hate to have an accident like a cop showing up to ask a stupid question and see me in the kitchen with a .45 hanging off the hip. (Hey, dumber things have happened)!!!

However, when hunting, I have an open carry rig that sits on my belt.

The difference between open carry and concealed carry at home is simply making sure my shirt covers the pistol. I wear a iwb at home, or just tuck into my belt.

Yes. I'd try to take your gun. And that is one of the downsides of open carry. You are displaying expensive and much desired merchandise on your belt. Now you personally might be a big tough dude, and I might avoid you, but if I'm a bad guy and I see some frail old man or a small woman with a $1,500 sidearm, I might find a way...

Sure I would. Shot them dead and take what I want!
That is a silly question!! You can't even get most people to keep a gun in the house let alone carry one in public.
Answer me this biggs:
If this were a perfect world would we need to carry guns at all????
