The Israelis like the 9mm for CQB and the Russians like the 7.62 short.

The US M-4 has evolved a long way, maybe worthwhile, and maybe not.

I cannot say. I am too old to have ever touched an M-4.

As a kid I used to hunt ground hogs with my grandfather's .222, don't see that round very often anymore.

If you need punch at long ranges, the .338 mag is the best, but only in 3rd place ballistically speaking.

If you really need to reach out a long ways, the .40 and .50 calibres are the best. But that is strictly military.
Have you ever even fired a gun?

I can tell that a lot of people here have never shot anything further than 100 yards away.
