It's hard to beat a good .357 for a first centerfire gun. Like somebody mentioned already, everybody should have one of these in their collection.

A 4" GP 100 (stainless would be my choice) will give you a lot of versatility and it's durable enough to last a few lifetimes. I bought a 4" SW 686 as my first revolver and I've never regretted it, that gun has been used for anything you can think of (concealed carry, hunting and hiking, home defense, etc.).

I voted for the GP100, but I've shot single action revolvers most of my life and recently obtained The Blackhawk in .44mag and I've really enjoyed it. You can't go wrong with either.

Voted for the GP 100. In addition to the .357/.38 special versatility, it *could* be used as a carry gun when the day comes, and it would also make a fine home defense, camping or car/truck gun.

I just bought this one from Bud's. It's the best deal on a quality gun.
Sig Sauer 2022 40s&w Night Sight 12rd Mags for Sale at Buds Gun Shop $439.00

These also come in 9mm but Bud's appears to be out of them now.
